Mt. Olivet United Methodist is a vibrant church with 2 services to choose from on Sundays, but a host of different ways to get involved. Our greatest purpose and calling is to worship God. We are passionate about providing a worship experience that not only praises and honors God, but also connects us to God in ways relevant to the reality of our lives today.
Worship & Service times
8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Both services are traditional in style. We utilize the long-standing United Methodist style of worship service, drawing on inspiration from deep Methodist roots. The Traditional Worship services are more formal in style, with music led by the organist playing familiar United Methodist hymns. Services also include a call to worship, communal or responsive prayers & liturgy, scripture readings, and times for prayer.
1082 Community Road • Lexington NC 27295
Parking is available around the perimeter of the church (along Community Road and Mount Olivet Church Road), directly across the street, and around the circle drive on the northeast side of the church.
children & nursery
Children are welcome to be a part of our worship services. There is a special Children’s Moment and opportunities for them to share their talents in worship by singing, praying, reciting, or serving as acolytes.
While we do provide a nursery (located through the right door of the pulpit) for young children and infants, please know that they are welcome to stay in our worship service – the joyful noise of all of God’s children enriches our worship together.
fellowship & sunday school
After the 8:45 a.m. worship service, Mt. Olivet has a few moments of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall. There are usually a variety of sweet treats and coffee to partake in as you meet and greet new friends or catch up with others. Sunday School follows and there are classes for all ages.
