Pastor Rick LeBaube

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and have lived in many places as I was growing up and in my professional pursuits. Dianna and I met at her younger brothers little league baseball game 48 years ago and we have been married for 44 years.

We have two daughters, Katy and Chrissy. Katy and her husband Kevin and son Samuel live in Reidsville, NC. Chrissy and her two children, Jaxon and Lilly, live in the Bennet community outside of Siler City, NC.

I received my call to pastoral ministry in 2000 and was appointed to my first church in January of 2002. I attended and graduated from The Divinity School at DUKE in 2006 and have served churches in Brown Summit, Stokesdale, Mayodan, Welcome, Midway, Walkertown and now Mt. Olivet. I am happy to say that every church that I have served has grown in both ministry and membership. I expect that this will happen at Mt. Olivet a well.

Here are a few things that I think you should know about me. One of the first questions I usually get is, “what do we call the new guy?” Pastor Rick will do. I like pretty much any kind of food; except ketchup and strawberries. I love to laugh and help others laugh while we all have a good time together.

I am truly excited to begin the journey at Mount Olivet UMC. I have a tremendous hope and a genuine enthusiasm for the opportunities and possibilities that God has planned for us as we serve in ministry together. I am praying for you and look forward to meeting all of you personally in the next few weeks. My hope is that we will establish a firm foundation based on the faith we have in Christ Jesus so that our time together will be fruitful and pleasing to God.

Missy Frye

Choir Director and Organist

I have been steeped in music, especially church music, all my life.  When I was a girl, much of my  family’s life revolved around their Southern Baptist church and its music.  I have always lived in Davidson County and started playing the piano at age 5 and added organ lessons at the age of 15.  I followed in my grandmother's footsteps who was the organist at her church until she was 98 years old.  I began playing in church at the age of 10 and filled in temporarily as the pianist at several churches for worship and Vacation Bible School.  I attended Meredith College on a music scholarship and earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy with a minor in church music.

I have worked in music ministry roles for over 25 years and served at a wide variety of congregations, from UCC to Baptist and Presbyterian to Methodist. My husband and I have been members of Mt. Olivet for 22 years and have raised our two children in the church, both of whom completed confirmation classes to become full members of the church. I enjoy connecting with others and embarking on their faith journey through song!
