Vacation Bible School 2025
Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure! Enterprise Moravian and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Churches invite you to their sixteenth joint Vacation Bible School, SonForce 2025. Throughout VBS we will have the opportunity to grow our understanding of what it means to serve God with courage. As SonForce special agents, standing side-by-side to serve God, we will follow in the words of Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
There are many good times in store for our preschool, kindergarten, elementary, youth, and adult students! This mission is NOT top secret--invite your friends to join you for fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth!
Preschool Students
Our nursery through preschool students are in self-contained classrooms on the second floor of the old educational building. They will have a special music time in addition to their classroom activities and nightly visits by Charlene Craver and Gadget, the dog puppet.
Elementary Students
Kindergarten through fifth grade special agents will rotate from station to station on the lower level of the educational building, playing games at the Outer Deck, making neat things at Tech Lab, singing at MilkyWay Melodies, and going back in time to meet some courageous Bible characters at Transport
Youth
The youth class, led by Mary Kathryn Patterson, Michelle Powers, and Whitney Gray, will have a fun-filled week hanging out with their friends and exploring the lives of Bible characters who demonstrated great courage. They will learn that the God who offered hope and courage to them still does the same for teenagers to- day.
Adults
Our adult classes will study John Ortberg’s book If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat. It took Peter a lot of courage to get out of that boat! Adults will be taught in the sanctuary by Phylis Augsburger, Charles Craver, Lynn Jordan, and Penny Craver Beck. The back parking lot will again be blocked to assure the safety of the children as they go to and from the building. Adults who aren’t picking up children may wish to park in front of the church for easy access to their vehicles when their class in the sanctuary ends.
Registration is Under Way!
You may preregister online at https://forms.gle/awsJ8E6BfEpDzLBy7 through July 26 or register when you come on Sunday! Pre-registration isn’t mandatory, but it will greatly help us with our planning and help relieve the long registration lines the first night. If you are planning to bring visitors, getting their information in advance would also be a big help to us. Please share this information and invite your friends to share the fun!
What to Expect
All VBS participants are invited for a free meal; we will begin serving at 5:30. This lets the earlier arrivals finish their meal and make room for others. When they finish eating, kindergarten through elementary students may go out for free play and a variety of games which will be provided by our Sunday School classes. (Younger children may also play with parental supervision.)
Drop Off and Pick Up
Both before and after VBS, please enter the car line from Community Road. Someone will be waiting to assist getting students to and from vehicles. If you prefer to walk your child in, please park across Mt Olivet Rd.
Opening Assembly
The SonForce headquarters is on a satellite orbiting high above the Earth. Everyone is invited to the Mission Command Center (sanctuary) at 6:20 to prepare for their five Daily Missions: Trust! Unite! Train! Follow! Lead! We’ll meet Miss Newton, the head of the satellite training station, Level 4 Agents Inez Haley and Edward Clark Felton, new agent Jack Oort and Robot.
Mission Project
Our mission project is to bring non-perishable food for the Blessing Box that serves our community and Greater Things Outreach in Welcome. Teams will compete to see which one brings the most food. There will a container for each class inside the double doors.
